Local action group who are here to help
This site is run by a colaberation of actions groups from the local villages, all of which are damaged by flooding. It is managed by these groups working together so that the results of their individual efforts can bring about real improvements for local residents
Flood Wardens
The cornerstone of the flood warning system! Run by volenteers these "hero's" warn us when its going to flood, tells us where it is flooded and if the roads are passable, and help local resisdents affected by the flood. They are helped by other local "hero's and heroine's" when the going gets tough!
Flood Action Group
Run by local people, for local people, these groups work village by village to help identify the causes of flooding, and to pressure the local authorities, water companies and other responsible agencies to "do the right thing" at the "right time"
Sileby Flood Group
Run by Sileby residents, this group has no political affilations and works tirelessly to keep the pressure on the Evironment Agency, Severn Trent, local prpoerty deleopers etc to make sure they deliver what they promised or are required to do
Sandbags and Flood Defences
Available at no cost to residents
The local councils all have a small stock of sandbags and other basic flood defences which can be made available to local residents. This supply isn’t very large, so please don’t just take it if you don’t actually need it.
