Once in 100 year event seem to happen every year. For too long the Soar valley village flood victims had worked in isolation of each other. One village may get its drains cleared, but the next will be left clogged, working together ensure that EA and ST does more for more people

Parish Councils have campaigned against over-development and concreting over of green spaces, tried to get sewers updated, rivers and ditches cleaned, better flood warning etc but they are powerless. It needs "real" people to make a "real" differnce; 1 letter can/will be ignored but one supported by 100's of villagers will make them take action.
